Ajijic continues to Thrill the World

By BLC Staff

Rehearsals with Zombie dancers for this year’s 13th Annual Thrill the World Ajijic event are well underway, and VIP tickets are now available on the ThrillAjijic.com web site.

The event itself will be held Saturday, Oct. 28 on the Ajijic Malecón Basketball Court with the following schedule:

2 p.m.        Gates open and DJ Panda will present tunes

3 p.m.        The Brujas y Brujos de Ajijic will perform a whimsical witches’ dance onstage.

4 p.m.        The Zombies of Ajijic will perform “Thriller”

5 p.m.        The Gargamel cover band will take the stage for a free concert.

Food and drinks will be available beginning at 2 p.m.

VIP Tickets are on sale now, which include VIP seating, one free drink, and entry into the Grand Prize Drawing for a brand-new Fire TV 4k Stick with one year of Live TV Service ($7,500-peso value)!  VIP Tickets can be purchased in advance of the event for $500 pesos per person, or $600 pesos at the door on the day of the event. Seating is limited, so individuals and groups are urged to act quickly.

Every year, thousands of people around the globe gather to dance to Michael Jackson’s 6-minute song, Thriller. The event was founded in 2006 in Toronto, and has now spread to six continents. The Ajijic Thrill the World event, originally organized by local resident Elliott Joachim (who died in 2016), has been coordinated by Donald Stordahl in recent years.

Proceeds from Thrill the World Ajijic help support local charities. This year, fundraising efforts will benefit construction (matched peso for peso by Cruz Roja Mexicana) of the new Emergency Wing at Cruz Roja Chapala.
