Local organization takes community assistance to heart

Lakeside Chapala abounds in groups that help orphaned, abandoned or handicapped children, homeless animals and disadvantaged families. One organization, the non-profit Corazón a Corazón (Heart to Heart) por La Comunidad Internacional A.C., is one whose help is much more comprehensive.

Established in 2020 and located at Jesus Garcia #11 In San Antonio Tlay., Corazón a Corazón is staffed by volunteers and offers a wide range of assistance to anyone in need, regardless of age, race, nationality or situation.

Possibly the most visible feature of Corazón a Corazón is their on-premises bazaar, offering donated goods donated by local individuals and low-cost food provided by alliances with various businesses that wish to help the community. The bazaar is held every other Friday and Saturday, with proceeds going to purchase items needed by the association.

In addition, on-site offerings include reduced-price pharmaceutical medications, medical and dental care, assistance with education and technology, clothing, school supplies and classes in English Also offered are courses in valuable personal or revenue-producing skills such as cosmetology, first aid/CPR, food preparation, hair styling, manicures and massage.  All training is certified by the Mexican government’s Department of Education. They also make medical visits to the homebound, providing nursing services and equipment such as wheelchairs or walkers. Access to a homeopathist, psychologist, and massage therapist are also offered.

Corazón a Corazón invites the public to visit its facility in San Antonio.  The organization accepts donations or reduced-cost items from local individuals and businesses.
